Question
How do I use PhotoLaser Plus with my Laser?

Answer

This page is to provide you with special settings that we've developed with CADLink for PhotoLaser Plus, as well as to provide you with some quick tips that we think you'll find helpful when using the software.

Photo Engraving Settings
Copy these settings into c:/engravelab/photolaser. They include our 600 dpi wood setting, a setting for small photos engraved on wood, a marble setting that automatically inverts the photo and an acrylic setting that inverts and flips the image.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Is this a replacement for CorelDRAW or other graphic layout software?

A: No, this is photo processing software that should be used for photos. Use Corel or another software package for more complicated graphic layouts after the photo is processed through this software.

Q: Why isn't my photo engraved into wood coming out as well as Epilog's?

A: Are you using the wood setting developed by Epilog? We use this for 100% of our wood photography and it provides exceptional results when engraving into wood. Download the settings above!

Q: I'm using Epilog's wood setting, but I'm seeing an obvious dot pattern when I engrave the photo.

A: You aren't running a photo resized to 600 dpi. Before processing the photo with the Epilog Wood Setting, go to Image/Image Size and change the photo size to 600 dpi, then hit apply.
