Choose Your Design Software<\/h2>\n

Epilog\u2019s laser systems work through the Epilog Laser Software Suite, built on an open-architecture design so you can create your artwork files in many different graphic software packages, including CorelDraw, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Bartender, Engravelab and many more. Choose the software that you\u2019re most comfortable with, so you don\u2019t need to spend valuable time learning a new program.<\/p>\n

Sending a Job<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here we have a stainless steel asset tag we\u2019re engraving on that is 3\u201d x 1.5\u201d in size. There are two popular options for page size: either setting it to the size of the piece you are working with or to the size of the engraving table. Either method will allow you to position your artwork easily.<\/p>\n

\"Position<\/p>\n

If you have the F163 lens installed, this will be 4\u201d x 4\u201d engraving area. With the F254 lens installed it will be 6\u201d x 6\u201d engraving area. As you can see, we can set up multiple tags across the engraving bed if we use the full table size.<\/p>\n

\"Add<\/p>\n

For this file we\u2019re going to just engrave one tag, so we\u2019ll set the page size to the size of one tag.<\/p>\n

\"Set<\/p>\n

Once you\u2019re happy with the placement of the graphic, print the file.<\/p>\n

In the Printer drop-down menu you\u2019ll find the Epilog Engraver that was added when you installed the Epilog Software Suite. Select Print.<\/p>\n

Laser Dashboard Settings<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The job will appear in the Laser Dashboard, Epilog\u2019s interface between the design and the laser where you\u2019ll set up all of your settings. Here we can position our graphic using the camera for positioning.<\/p>\n

\"Position<\/p>\n

For the material settings, you can use our common materials list to get started. Click the Folder with a down arrow icon to open the materials list.You\u2019ll find multiple materials listed here that you can use as a jumping off place for fine tuning your own material settings.<\/p>\n

\"Choose<\/p>\n

Choose the settings for the appropriate lens, F254 in this case, and the type of mark you would like to achieve. We want a white polished mark for this tag. Click the Import button to use these settings.<\/p>\n

We can easily adjust these settings as needed, and print the file to the laser.<\/p>\n
