The higher you set the resolution, the higher your engraving quality will be. Typically you\u2019ll use 400 or 600 DPI for most materials you engrave.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Resolution settings control your engraving DPI.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_02.jpg\" alt=\"The Resolution settings in the Epilog Fusion print driver. \" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, choose between CO2 or Fiber lasers depending on which you have installed or which materials you want to process.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Set your laser source according to which you want to work with.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_03.jpg\" alt=\"The CO2 and Fiber laser settings in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click the Auto Focus box to enable automatic focusing on your machine. If you have your Vector Grid installed, click next to Vector Grid to change the table height taking into account the height of the vector grid. Next enter your material thickness and if you would like to offset the table, such as on a material like acrylic, you can enter this measurement here as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Auto Focus will enables automatic focusing, and the Vector Grid option will account for your installed vector cutting grid.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_04.jpg\" alt=\"The Auto Focus settings in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cJob Type\u201d area is where you choose between Raster, Vector, or Combined modes, which includes both engraving and cutting within the same job.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Control wether your job will engrave, cut, or both.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_05.jpg\" alt=\"The Job Type settings in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPiece Size\u201d setting is where you will set your page size dimensions to match the page size of your design.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Piece Size setting is where you will set your piece size to match your design's page size.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_06.jpg\" alt=\"The Piece Size settings in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the \u201cRaster Setting\u201d area you\u2019ll set your speed and power settings, from 1 to 100%. You can find suggested speeds and powers for different materials in your manual. The frequency setting will only be active when Fiber is selected as your laser type. This refers to the pulsing of the fiber laser as well as the average output power per laser pulse.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Control your engraving parameters with the Raster Settings.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_07.jpg\" alt=\"The Raster Settings in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cEngrave Direction\u201d setting can be set to Top-Down or Bottom-Up by clicking the arrow button or using the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"You can control the direction in which the laser engraves.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_08.jpg\" alt=\"The Engrave Direction setting in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cImage Dithering\u201d setting is a drop-down menu where you can choose between different ways for the laser to interpret the dot pattern in your file. There are three clipart modes: Standard, Brighten, and Low Res when running lower resolution images. The next three modes, Floyd Steinberg, Jarvis, and Stucki are all used for different types of photographs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Control the dot pattern of your file with the Image Dithering setting.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_09.jpg\" alt=\"The Image Dithering setting in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, you can set your Vector settings. Start with your speed and power settings, setting each from 1 to 100%.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Control your cutting parameters with the Vector Settings.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_10.jpg\" alt=\"The Vector Settings in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Vector cutting frequency ranges from 1 to 100. This is the pulse rate of the laser as it cuts. A low frequency will produce a dotted line, often used for scoring paper, while a high frequency, where the laser beam is on continuously, is often used for cutting acrylic to create a flame polished edge.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Vector cutting frequency can be set to a custom value from 1 through 100.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_11.jpg\" alt=\"The Vector cutting frequency setting in the Epilog FiberMark print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Speed Comp check box reduces all speed settings by one half. For example, a speed setting of 10 without speed comp selected will move twice as fast as a setting of 10 with speed comp turned on. This is most often used when cutting thicker materials at very low speeds, allowing you to cut through thicker materials in a single pass.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Speed Comp reduces all speed settings to accommodate cutting thicker materials with lower speeds.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_12.jpg\" alt=\"The Speed Comp checkbox in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When checked Power Comp reduces the laser output when the laser carriage slows as it moves through a curve. Consider it a slow cutting option. Selecting Power Comp is especially useful for vector cutting jobs that incorporate a large number of curves. Most users find that keeping Power Comp selected is the preferred setting.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Power Comp is useful for slow cutting and cutting curves.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_13.jpg\" alt=\"The Power Comp checkbox in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under the Options section of driver you\u2019ll find Center-Engraving. The Center-Engraving checkbox will enable the center-engraving features of the laser. Choose your new home position and the laser will center your engraving at that position.<br \/>\nYou can choose between left-center, top-center, page-center, and center-center positioning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Center-Engraving lets you control the home position while engraving.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_14.jpg\" alt=\"The Center-Engraving setting in the Epilog FiberMark print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under Rotary Options, select the checkbox if you are using the 3-Jaw Chuck Rotary Attachment in the system. This is not necessary if you are using the standard Rim-Style Rotary Attachment. After selecting the check box, enter the diameter of your piece.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"If you're using the 3-Jaw Chuck Rotary Attachment, select the checkbox under Rotary Options.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_15.jpg\" alt=\"The Rotary Options in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then you can choose to send the project to the Job Manager for easy access later\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The 'Send to Laser' checkbox ensures the file will be sent to the laser for printing.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_16.jpg\" alt=\"The 'Send to Laser' setting in the Epilog FiberMark print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2026or to send the job directly to the laser, or both.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The 'Send to Manager' checkbox ensures the file will be sent to the Epilog Job Manager.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_17.jpg\" alt=\"The 'Send to Manager' setting in the Epilog FiberMark print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Advanced-Tab\">Advanced Tab<\/h2>\n<p>Next, we\u2019ll move on to the Advanced tab at the top of the screen.<\/p>\n<p>The first area of this tab is the \u201cRaster Type\u201d setting. Typically you will be operating the laser in Basic mode.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Basic mode is for most cutting\/engraving applications.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_18.jpg\" alt=\"The Basic Raster Type setting in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3D mode changes how the laser looks at the grayscale images in your design, and will change the laser power applied to each dot, creating a 3D gradient effect on your material.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The 3D mode adjusts power settings on the fly to achieve a 3D effect when printing gradients. \" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_19.jpg\" alt=\"The 3D Raster Type setting in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stamp mode is used to enable the laser\u2019s rubber stamp settings.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Stamp mode is optimized for engraving rubber stamps.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_20.jpg\" alt=\"The Stamp Raster Type setting in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under \u201cStamp Settings\u201d, the Shoulder setting adjusts the angle of the sides of the stamp.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Shoulder setting adjusts the angle of the sides of the stamp.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_21.jpg\" alt=\"The Shoulder Stamp Setting in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cWidening\u201d setting adjusts the boldness of the characters.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Widening setting adjusts the boldness of the characters.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_22.jpg\" alt=\"The Widening Stamp Setting in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Selecting the \u201cMirror\u201d checkbox automatically inverts the artwork for you.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Mirror setting automatically inverts the artwork for you.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_23.jpg\" alt=\"The Mirror Stamp Setting in the EPilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Selecting the \u201cFence\u201d checkbox tells the laser you have created an outer border on each stamp on the sheet.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"The Fence setting tells the laser you have created an outer border for each stamp.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_24.jpg\" alt=\"The Fence Stamp Setting in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you receive a notification of a firmware update on your system, select the \u201cUpdate Firmware\u201d checkbox, then load the file to start the firmware installation process.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Load new firmware files via the Update Firmware section.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_25.jpg\" alt=\"The Update Firmware section of the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under Language, you can change the language displayed on the print driver.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Choose your print driver language via the Language drop-down.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_26.jpg\" alt=\"The Language drop-down in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For users that prefer the Legacy print driver Epilog has provided, select the \u201cClassic UI\u201d checkbox.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Select the Classic UI checkbox if you prefer the Legacy print driver style.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_27.jpg\" alt=\"The Classic UI checkbox in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cConfigurations\u201d area of the driver allows you to save and access material and job settings. When your settings are perfect for a project, save them for the next time you need to run that job. You can also load our suggested material settings for materials into the driver from the driver download page on our website.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Save and access material and job settings in the Configurations menu.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_28.jpg\" alt=\"The Configurations settings in the Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Color-Mapping\">Color Mapping Tab<\/h2>\n<p>Finally, we\u2019ll look at the \u201cColor Mapping\u201d Tab at the top.<\/p>\n<p>Color Mapping lets you set different speeds and powers to different colors within your artwork. Click the checkbox to enable the \u201cColor Mapping\u201d settings.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Enable Color Mapping by selecting the checkbox in the Color Mapping tab.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_29.jpg\" alt=\"The Color Mapping checkbox in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Change the speed, power, frequency, focus and offset for each color and whether to activate in raster, vector, or combined mode.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"After selecting a color, adjust the laser settings to be associated with it.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_30.jpg\" alt=\"The laser settings section of the Color Mapping tab in the Epilog Fusion print driver.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re done adjusting your settings, click the right arrow to apply your new settings.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Once settings have been selected, press the right arrow button to save the color.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion_print-driver-tour_31.jpg\" alt=\"The right arrow button in the Color Mapping tab.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was a basic overview of the Epilog Fusion M2 print driver.
