\/><\/p>\n<p>The issue is that barcodes are very difficult to scan when engraved on highly reflective metal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll walk through two solutions to this issue.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Polished-Barcode\">Polished Barcode Solution<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the first solution, we\u2019ll draw a box around the barcode.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Right click on the box and choose Order &gt; To Back of Page\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Align the box to the barcode so they are centered to each other.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Center laser.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the Laser Dashboard\u2122, there are two processes defined by the different colors in the file.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The black will be etched, and the blue will \/><\/p>\n<p>Import the metal etching settings for the black layer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And import the metal polish settings for the blue.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Import Material Settings\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_07.jpg\" alt=\"Import the metal polish settings for the blue\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rearrange the processes so the polish process will run before the etching\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using the IRIS\u2122 Cameras, center the image on your tag.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Center the Image\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_09.jpg\" alt=\"Center the image on your tag with the IRIS\u2122 Camera Preview\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And print the file to the laser.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the galvo laser display panel, choose the file and press the start button.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First the laser will engrave the white polish mark.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Engrave the white polish mark\" is readable by a barcode reader\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Polished-Tag\">Polished Tag Solution<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next we\u2019ll show another solution that will give you a completely different look.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove the design from the Laser Dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Select the Copy Background Image icon in the menu bar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Select the Copy Background Image icon\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_13.jpg\" alt=\"Select the Copy Background Image icon in the menu bar\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Back in CorelDRAW, create a new page that is 6\u201d x 6\u201d, the same size as the engraving area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Create new page that is 6 x 6\" background image\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_15.jpg\" alt=\"Paste your copied background image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now we can see the exact placement of the tag on the table.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Draw a box the size of the tag and adjust the edges to line up with the tag.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Draw a box the size of the tag\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_16.jpg\" alt=\"Draw a box the size of the tag\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Create a second box and repeat this.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adjust the boxes so they are \/><\/p>\n<p>Change the outer box to a different color.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Select the outer box, then the inner box holding down the Shift key.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Select the Simplify tool in the tool bar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This will remove the inner box from the outer one.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Change color and Simplify\" barcode.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Copy Artwork\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_20.jpg\" alt=\"Copy the artwork over from your old file\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Paste Artwork and Remove Blue\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_21.jpg\" alt=\"Paste the artwork and remove the blue behind the barcode\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the contents of the file without the background image.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Print the file to the laser as Selection only.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Print as Selection only\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/readable-barcode_22.jpg\" alt=\"Print the file to the laser as Selection only\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The file comes over perfectly positioned.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" blue layer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Import the Metal Etch settings for the black layer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rearrange the processes so the polish mark happens before the etching.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Print the file to the laser.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now the polish mark covers the entire tag instead of just behind the barcode.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"Test-Barcodes\">Test the Barcodes<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wipe off the tag and you have a second option with a completely different look.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Completed
