{"id":17935,"date":"2024-09-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-pro\/getting-started\/optics_fusion-pro-32-48\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T10:18:21","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T17:18:21","slug":"optics_fusion-pro-32-48","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-pro\/cleaning\/optics_fusion-pro-32-48\/","title":{"rendered":"Cleaning Your Optics"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\"Lens-Tube\">Cleaning the Lens Tube Optics<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To begin the procedure of cleaning your optics, with the machine powered on, select the Jog icon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then use the joystick to move the laser head toward the front and middle of the machine to provide you easier access to the lens assembly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_01.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the Focus icon, then use the joystick to lower the table to give you a little room to work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Open the top and front doors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_02.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Shut off the laser and remove the power cord from the machine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove the lens tube by using a Philips head screwdriver to unscrew the captive screw securing the front lens clamp.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_03.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Support the lens tube from the bottom, as the tube may come out easily.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_04.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unscrew the lens tube cap on the end of the lens tube to give you access to one side of the lens inside the tube.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_05.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Apply some lens cleaning solution to a cotton swab, then use it clean the side of the lens you just exposed. Use a dry cotton swab to dry the lens.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_06.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_07.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Turn the lens tube around and clean and dry the other side of the lens.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_08.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Screw the lens tube cap back onto the lens tube.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_09.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Place the tube back into the assembly, making sure that the hole near the bottom of the tube lines up with the air assist hole on the assembly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_10.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_11.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Make sure the notch at the top of the lens tube lines up with the insert on the assembly as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_12.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_13.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the tube is in place it should only shift slightly when twisted side to side.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Secure the front lens clamp using a Philips screwdriver.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_14.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Lens-Assembly\">Cleaning Your Lens Assembly Optics<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next, open the housing at the top of the lens tube by pivoting the plate located on the back side of the housing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_15.jpg\" alt=\"cleaning your optics\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Loosen the mirror screw, then carefully slide the mirror out of the housing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_16.jpg\" alt=\"cleaning your optics\" width=\"1200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Clean and dry the mirror.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_18.jpg\" alt=\"cleaning your optics\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While the housing is open, clean and dry the interior and exterior of the lens assembly window.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_19.jpg\" alt=\"cleaning your optics\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Carefully reinsert the mirror, tighten the mirror screw, and pivot the plate to close the housing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_20.jpg\" alt=\"cleaning your optics\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_21.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The plate should click into place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Internal-Mirrors\">Internal Mirrors<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next we\u2019ll clean the mirrors at the top and bottom of the periscope at the rear of the machine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Use a hex key to remove the top access plate on the left side of the machine and reveal the top mirror housing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_22.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also remove the bottom access plate to reveal the bottom mirror housing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_23.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To give yourself more room to work, you may want to remove the bottom panel on the back of the machine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Use a hex key to remove the six screws, then remove the panel and set it aside.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_24.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with the top mirror.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove the magnetic housing plate.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_25.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Loosen the mirror screw, then carefully slide the mirror out of the housing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_26.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_27.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Clean and dry the mirror.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_28.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reinsert the mirror, tighten the mirror screw, and put the magnetic housing plate back in position.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_29.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_30.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Follow the same process for the bottom mirror.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remove the magnetic housing plate.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_31.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Loosen the mirror screw, then carefully slide the mirror out of the housing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_32.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_33.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Clean and dry the mirror.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_34.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reinsert the mirror, tighten the mirror screw, and put the magnetic housing plate back in position.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_35.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_36.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reattach the bottom panel on the back of the machine by reinserting the six screws.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_37.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reattach the top and bottom access panels on the left side of the machine as well.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_38.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro-32-48_optics_39.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"X_Axis-Assembly-Mirror\">X-Axis Assembly Mirror<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, use a hex key to loosen the black panel locks on the blue side panel on the left side of the on.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Whenever you move or adjust the lens or mirrors, we suggest you run the laser alignment procedure to ensure everything is still properly aligned after cleaning your
