The goal of this document is to determine the operational status of the CO2 laser in a Fusion Edge, Maker, or Pro machine.<\/p>\n<h2>Checklist<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"uk-list uk-list-primary\">\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Interlocks<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Laser Control LEDs<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Burn Mark From X-Axis<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Optics<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Alignment<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Focus<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>LEDs On Laser Tube<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"fa fa-square-o fa-lg uk-margin-small-right\"  aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i>Burn From Source<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Safety Interlocks<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"uk-list uk-list-decimal uk-list-divider uk-list-large\">\n<li>\n<p>Locate the safety interlock LEDs on the right-side of the display panel.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output2.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The two interlock LEDs are labeled with lock icons. These LEDs must be illuminated when the doors are closed.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output3.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>While running a job, the interlock LEDs should stay illuminated the entire time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><strong>No Interlock LEDs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check for debris around top door seal.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure all doors are closed.<\/li>\n<li>Look for an unusual gap between the top door and chassis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-primary uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-circle uk-margin-small-right\"><\/i>Note: <\/span><\/strong>If the interlock LEDs are not functioning properly, you must troubleshoot them before proceeding.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Laser Control LED<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"uk-list uk-list-decimal uk-list-divider uk-list-large\">\n<li>\n<p>Locate the laser control LED on the right-side of the display panel. It\u2019s labeled with a CO2 Icon.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output4.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-primary uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-circle uk-margin-small-right\"><\/i>Note: <\/span><\/strong>The laser control LED will illuminate when the system is commanding the laser to fire.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Clear the laser bed of all flammable material.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Download the sample vector job below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/stock_jobs\/2x2_vectorbox.svg\">Vector Test<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Send the job to the laser, and run the job.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The CO2 laser LED should be on while the job is running.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><strong>No Laser Control LED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check artwork \/ job parameters.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the laser source is set to CO2 if you have a dual source machine.<\/li>\n<li>Verify the power is set properly.<\/li>\n<li>Check that the artwork is positioned properly within the artboard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-primary uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-circle uk-margin-small-right\"><\/i>Note: <\/span><\/strong>If the laser control or interlock LEDs are not functioning properly, you must troubleshoot them before proceeding.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Check output from X-Axis<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"uk-list uk-list-decimal uk-list-divider uk-list-large\">\n<li>\n<p>Place masking tape over the circular opening on the left side of the X-Axis rail.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output5.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Move the carriage to the home position (top left) by pressing reset twice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Click the gear icon in the top right of the display.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output6.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Select Alignment.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output7.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Get a burn mark by tapping the Activate button and watching for a burn mark on the tape.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output8.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Check the tape for a burn mark.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><strong>Burn Mark:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check carriage optics (lens \/ mirror).<\/li>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/article\/KA-01637\/\">Low Output<\/a> Procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><strong>No Burn Mark:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proceed to the next section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Check laser Status LEDs<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output9.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-danger uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-triangle uk-margin-small-right fa-2x\"><\/i>WARNING! DO NOT TOUCH the areas marked with the high voltage icon.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output11.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/p>\n<ol class=\"uk-list uk-list-decimal uk-list-divider uk-list-large\">\n<li>\n<p>Turn off the machine and disconnect the power cable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Remove the back panel of the machine.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output12.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Remove the mirror 1 cover located at the bottom left corner of the machine.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output13.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/p>\n<p>There are three LED\u2019s on the end of the laser tube. The red LED indicates there is power to the laser. The green LED indicates the interlocks are active. The yellow LED will only come on when the laser is commanded to fire.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output14.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output15.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Reconnect the power cable.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Power the machine ON.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Close all doors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Check that the red and green LEDs are illuminated on the side of the laser tube.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><strong>No Red LED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Laser tube unplugged.<\/li>\n<li>Damaged harnessing to laser.<\/li>\n<li>Damaged laser tube.<\/li>\n<li>Damaged power supply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><strong>No Green LED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interlocks are NOT engaged.<\/li>\n<li>Damaged Interlock harnessing.<\/li>\n<li>Damaged Interlocks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-primary uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-circle uk-margin-small-right\"><\/i>Note: <\/span><\/strong>If the interlock LEDs on laser do not match the interlock LEDs on the side of the control panel, troubleshoot the connection between the laser and control board.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Check Laser Output<\/h2>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-danger uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-triangle uk-margin-small-right fa-2x\"><\/i>Warning: <\/span><\/strong> In this step we will test fire the laser with a piece of material directly outside the tube. EVERYONE must wear safety glasses for this step.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ol class=\"uk-list uk-list-decimal uk-list-divider uk-list-large\">\n<li>\n<p>Remove the magnetic cover over mirror 1.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output16.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Remove mirror 1.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-margin-bottom\" src=\"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/assets\/img\/knowledge-base\/checklist\/laser\/no_output17.png\" alt= \"screenshot\"><\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Place a piece of card stock in the mirror 1 housing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Fire the laser In Alignment mode.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Remove the material from the mirror housing and check for a burn mark.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Tap the Activate button in alignment mode and check that the yellow CO2 laser LED on the laser tube illuminates while the Activate button is being pressed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"uk-panel uk-tile-muted uk-padding\">\n<p><i><strong><span class=\"uk-text-primary uk-h4\"><i class=\"fas fa-exclamation-circle uk-margin-small-right\"><\/i>Note: <\/span><\/strong>You may need two people for this step. One to watch the LEDs on the laser tube while the other operates the machine.
