Do not remove these screws completely.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_08.jpg\" alt=\"Loosening the screws on the front of the X-Axis Assembly.\" title=\"Loosen the screws on the front of the X-Axis Assembly.\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_09.jpg\" alt=\"Loosening the screws on the back of the X-Axis Assembly.\" title=\"Loosen the screws on the back of the X-Axis Assembly.\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_10.jpg\" alt=\"Lifting the cover off of the X-Axis Assembly.\" title=\"Remove the X-Axis Assembly cover.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Loosen the X-axis belt as follows:<\/p>\n<p>On the left side of the X-Axis Assembly, locate the idler pulley that the belt wraps around. It is mounted to a sliding plate which has one screw and a spring attached.<\/p>\n<p>Loosen the Philips screw that holds the sliding plate in place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_11.jpg\" alt=\"Loosening the screw that holds the sliding plate in place on the left end of the X-Axis Assembly.\" title=\"Loosen the Philips screw that holds the sliding plate in place.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>While holding the sliding plate to the right hand side of the engraver, tighten the screw. This will hold the pulley in place and keep tension off of the X-axis belt.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_12.jpg\" alt=\"Holding the sliding plate to the right hand side of the engraver and tightening the screw.\" title=\"Hold the sliding plate to the right hand side of the engraver and tighten the screw\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-X_Motor\">Remove Old X-Motor<\/h2>\n<p>Identify the Motor Assembly on the right side of the X-Axis Assembly. Locate the motor wires and remove them by squeezing the quick-disconnect plugs between your thumb and forefinger to release the connectors from their sockets.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_13.jpg\" alt=\"Unscrewing the Air Assist Coil from the end of the X-Axis Assembly.\" title=\"Remove the Air Assist Coil.\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_14.jpg\" alt=\"Unplugging the two black connectors from the circuit board.\" title=\"Unplug the two black connectors from the circuit board.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the Air Assist Coil.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_15.jpg\" alt=\"Grasping the X-Axis flex cable.\" title=\"Disconnect the X-Axis flex cable.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Unscrew and remove the fan assembly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_16.jpg\" alt=\"Unscrewing the two screws that secure the fan assembly.\" title=\"Remove the two screws securing the fan assembly.\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_17.jpg\" alt=\"Lifting the fan assembly off the circuit board.\" title=\"Remove the fan assembly.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Identify and unscrew the captive screws which mount the motor to the X-Axis Assembly. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_18.jpg\" alt=\"Unscrewing one of the captive screws securing the X-Motor.\" title=\"Unscrew the captive motor mounting screws.\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_19.jpg\" alt=\"Unscrewing one of the captive screws securing the X-Motor.\" title=\"Unscrew the captive motor mounting screws.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the motor by pulling it straight up. You may need to angle the motor slightly so that the belt falls from the drive pulley.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_20.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the X-Motor.\" title=\"Remove the motor.\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Install-X_Motor\">Install New X-Motor<\/h2>\n<p>Install the new X-Motor. With your index finger, pull the belt and loop the belt around the silver pulley. Place the motor so that the captive screws are aligned with the mounting posts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_21.jpg\" alt=\"Installing the new X-Motor.\" title=\"Install the new X-Motor.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Tighten the captive screws to hold the motor in place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_22.jpg\" alt=\"Tightening the captive motor mounting screws.\" title=\"Tighten the captive X-Motor mounting screws.\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_23.jpg\" alt=\"Tightening the captive motor mounting screws.\" title=\"Tighten the captive X-Motor mounting screws.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Replace and fasten the fan assembly over the circuit board. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_24.jpg\" alt=\"Reattaching the fan assembly over the circuit board.\" title=\"Reattach the fan assembly.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Connect the motor and fan wires by plugging the black connectors into the circuit board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_25.jpg\" alt=\"Connecting the motor plug into the circuit board.\" title=\"Plug the motor connector into the circuit board.\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_26.jpg\" alt=\"Connecting the fan plug into the circuit board.\" title=\"Plug the fan connector into the circuit board.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Reconnect the Air Assist Coil.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_27.jpg\" alt=\"Reconnecting the Air Assist Coil.\" title=\"Reconnect the Air Assist Coil.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>On the left side of the X-Axis Assembly, locate the pulley which the belt wraps around. Loosen the Philips screw holding the sliding plate in place. The spring will pull the belt tight.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_28.jpg\" alt=\"Loosening the screw that holds the pulley sliding plate in place.\" title=\"Loosen the screw holding the sliding plate in place.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Retighten the Philips screw to keep the belt tight as the engraver operates.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_x-motor-replacement_29.jpg\" alt=\"Tightening the screw that holds the pulley sliding plate in place.\" title=\"Tighten the screw once the spring has pulled the belt taut.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Check that the belt is on the center of both pulleys on the left and right sides of the assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Replace the cover on the X-Axis Assembly and tighten the screws on panel, inserting the four screws on the panel&#8217;s main face, as well as the two screws on the back.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
