{"id":18023,"date":"2024-09-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-pro\/getting-started\/x-axis-assembly-replacement\/"},"modified":"2024-09-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T06:00:00","slug":"x-axis-assembly-replacement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-pro\/service-and-repair\/x-axis-assembly-replacement\/","title":{"rendered":"X-Axis Assembly Replacement"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\"X_Axis-Assembly-Removal\">X-Axis Assembly Removal<\/h2>\n<p>First, power off and unplug the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_01.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_02.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Using a 5\/32\u201d Allen Key, remove the right side panel from the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_03.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Using a 5\/32\u201d Allen Key, remove the left side panel from the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_04.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Manually move the x-axis assembly to the middle of the engraver.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_05.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the lens tube by using a Philips head screwdriver to unscrew the captive screw securing the front lens clamp.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_06.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the left and right bellows on both sides of the machine by loosening the six (6) 5\/16\u201d nuts which secure them in place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_07.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_08.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Put on the anti-static wrist strap. Clip the strap on to any metal part of the machine. Always wear the anti-static strap to avoid damaging the unit through static discharge.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_09.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 screws that secure the x-axis motor drive board cover and set the cover to the side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_10.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_11.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_12.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Now, disconnect the 7 electrical connectors from the drive board and set the board to the side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_13.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the 4 mounting screws supporting the drive board using a Phillips Screwdriver.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_14.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Take off the anti-static wrist strap until needed when replacing the motor drive board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_15.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the four 5\/32\u201d fasteners that secure the x-axis assembly to the y-axis bearings. There are two on the right side and two on the left side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_16.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_17.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_18.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Slide the x-axis assembly out of the engraver through the right side of the machine, taking care to clear the carriage assembly through the opening without damage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_19.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Installation\">X-Axis Assembly Installation<\/h2>\n<p>Insert the x-axis assembly through the right side of the engraver, taking care to clear the carriage assembly through the opening without damage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_20.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Once fully inserted, place the x-axis assembly onto the y-axis bearing blocks. On the y-axis bearing blocks is a locating pin that ensures the correct placement on the x-axis assembly. These pins fit into an opening on both the left and right side of the x-axis assembly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_21.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Install and\/or tighten the four 5\/32\u201d fasteners that secure the x-axis assembly to the y-axis bearings. There are two on the right side and two on the left side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_22.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_23.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_24.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Put on the anti-static wrist strap, clipping the strap to any metal part of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_25.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Replace the 4 mounting screws supporting the drive board with a Phillips Screwdriver.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-pro_x-axis-assembly-replacement_26.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Reconnect the seven (7) electrical connectors from the drive board.
