Clip the strap on to any metal part of the machine. Always wear the anti-static strap when handling the control board to avoid damaging the unit through static discharge.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Put on the anti-static strap and clip it to the machine.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_04.jpg\" alt=\"Clipping a wrist-mounted static strap to the exhaust port of the machine.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-Right-Side-Panel\">Remove Right Side Panel<\/h2>\n<p>Loosen the two screws on the side of the display panel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Loosen the display panel screws.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_05.jpg\" alt=\"Loosening the display panel captive screws.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Grasp the two screws and pull the controller away from the engraver. Remove the three screws on the side of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the right side panel's side screws.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_08.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the right side panel's side screws.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the screw on the back of the machine holding on the side panel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the right side panel's back screw.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_09.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the right side panel's back screw.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the right side panel by lifting up on the bottom of the cover and pulling toward you, then up.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the right side panel.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_10.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the ride side panel.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-Table-Motor\">Remove Old Table Motor<\/h2>\n<p>On the bottom right side of the machine you will find the motor. Using a short screwdriver, remove the four Phillips head screws on the motor bracket.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the motor bracket mounting screws.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_11.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the table motor mounting brackets.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Follow the wire harness from the motor and disconnect the harness from the backplane board in the upper right corner. Cut the zip ties.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Disconnect the wire harness from the backplane board.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_12.jpg\" alt=\"Disconnecting the wire harness from the backplane board.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Cut the zip ties.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_13.jpg\" alt=\"Scissors cutting the zip ties securing the wires.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Loosen the black-capped tensioning screw located in the bottom right side of the table on the inside of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Loosen the tensioning screw.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_14.jpg\" alt=\"The black-capped tensioning screw on the right side of the interior of the machine.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the motor assembly from the white table belt and set it aside.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Pull the table motor assembly out of the chassis.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_15.jpg\" alt=\"Pulling the table motor out from the chassis.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Access-Bottom-of-Machine\">Access Bottom of Machine<\/h2>\n<p>Tape the top window to secure it, and then carefully tip the machine on its left side, opposite of the open side, so you can access the table motor from the bottom of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Secure the lid to the front of the machine using sturdy tape.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_16.jpg\" alt=\"Applying masking tape to the lid of the machine.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Lift the Zing onto its side so the bottom is facing you.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_17.jpg\" alt=\"The Zing resting on its left side.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry the panel from the bottom of the chassis to remove the six plastic securing pins. It is best to start from the top left and work your way down to the bottom left. Then from the top right, work your way down to the bottom right.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"USe a flathead screwdriver to pry the bottom panel away from the chassis.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/zing_z-motor-replacement_18.jpg\" alt=\"Prying the bottom panel away from the chassis with a flathead screwdriver.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Install-Table-Motor\">Install New Table Motor<\/h2>\n<p>Place your new motor through the hole and wrap the white table belt back around the motor assembly, making sure the belt is wrapped around the pulley. Loosely install one of the Philips screws on the motor bracket to secure it, this way it will stay in place when it\u2019s time to flip the machine back down. Use the replacement securing pins included with your new motor. Push the display unit all the way into the slots until it is fully seated.
