{"id":18036,"date":"2024-09-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-pro\/getting-started\/z-motor-table-motor_mini-helix\/"},"modified":"2024-09-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T06:00:00","slug":"z-motor-table-motor_mini-helix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/mini-helix\/service-and-repair\/z-motor-table-motor_mini-helix\/","title":{"rendered":"Z-Motor \/ Table Motor Replacement"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\"Adjust-Table-Position\">Adjust Table Position<\/h2>\n<p>Start by turning on the machine and then raise the table all the way to the top.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Shut off the laser and remove the power cord from the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To manually adjust your laser machine&#8217;s vertical table position, pull on the belt located underneath the table to raise or lower it to the proper height.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_05.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_06.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-Panel\">Remove Panel<\/h2>\n<p>Remove the right side panel by removing the 6 screws, 4 located on the side of the machine, two located on the back of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_07.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_08.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-Old-Motor\">Remove Old Motor<\/h2>\n<p>Disconnect the electrical connector.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_09.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Disconnect the white ribbon cable connected to the control board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_10.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A 3\/32 Hexagonal screw controls the tightness of the belt, which needs to be at a certain tightness in order for the motor to work properly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_11.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, before removing the bracket, use a sharpie marker to color the visible thread between the bracket and the fixed nut. Be sure to color the edge of the thread and the fixed nut.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With a long 5\/16 nut driver, unscrew the two nuts on the motor bracket, pulling gently against the z-belt to keep it tight so it doesn\u2019t loosen and come off the other pulley.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_13.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_14.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unscrew the 3\/32 hexagonal screw.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_15.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_16.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Remove the Z-motor and bracket.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_17.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Install-New-Motor\">Install New Motor<\/h2>\n<p>Insert the new z-motor assembly, wrapping the z-belt between the silver pulley and the bracket, and positioning the bracket on the fixed screws.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_18.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_19.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_20.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Insert the hexagonal tensioning screw.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_21.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Put a washer and nut onto each fixed screw, but do not tighten them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_z-motor-replacement_22.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tighten the hexagonal tensioning screw until the edge of the black mark is at the edge of the fixed nut.
