Press the Go and Pointer button at the same time to access the Function menu and cycle through the headings by pressing the Go button. Always wear the anti-static strap when handling the control board to avoid damaging the unit through static discharge. Clip the strap on to any metal part of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Put on the anti-static strap.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_06.jpg\" alt=\"Putting the anti-static strap onto your wrist.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Clip the strap on to any metal part of the machine.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_07.jpg\" alt=\"Clipping a wrist-mounted static strap to the machine.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-Controller-Board\">Remove Old Controller Board<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the type of connection you are using to print to the laser, you will need to either disconnect the Ethernet cable or USB cable from the back of the engraver where it plugs into the controller board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Disconnect any USB ot Ethernet cords plugged into the controller board.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_11.jpg\" alt=\"Close up of the USB and Ethernet ports on the back of the machine.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Locate the Controller Board on the right side of the machine towards the rear. Unplug the 4 connectors on the controller board mainly located along the left side if you are looking directly at it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the four connectors plugged into the controller board.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_12.jpg\" alt=\"The controller board inside the machine, with the four connectors highlighted.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On newer machines, one of those 4 connectors will have a bracket with 2 Phillips head screws holding the connector in place to secure it to the board. If you have the newer machine, use a Phillips head screw driver to remove the 2 Philips head screws from the bracket so you can unplug the connector.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Recent machines will have a bracket securing the top connector, which will need to be removed.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_13.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the screws holding the top connector mounting bracket.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The older machine does not have that bracket, and only requires removing the light grey connector located on upper left side of the board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the top connector.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_14.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the controller board's top connector.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the middle connector.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_15.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the controller board's middle connector.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the bottom ribbon connector.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_16.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the controller board's bottom ribbon connector.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the top ribbon connector.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_17.jpg\" alt=\"Removing the controller board's top ribbon connector.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To remove the Controller Board, use the Phillips head screw driver to remove the 4 Philips head screws located on each corner of the board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Remove the four controller board mounting screws.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_18.jpg\" alt=\"Unscrewing one of the four controller board mounting screws.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Pull the old controller board out of the machine.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_19.jpg\" alt=\"Pulling the old controller board out of the machine.\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Install-Controller-Board\">Install New Controller Board<\/h2>\n<p>Install the new Controller Board, replacing all 4 Philips head screws to each corner of the board.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Put the new controller board into the machine.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_20.jpg\" alt=\"Putting the new controller board into position within the machine.\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Replace the four controller board mounting screws.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mini-helix_controller-board_21.jpg\" alt=\"Inserting the controller board mounting screws.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reconnect all 4 connectors to the controller board.
