{"id":18043,"date":"2024-09-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-pro\/getting-started\/replacing-the-laser-tube_edge-pro\/"},"modified":"2025-06-18T09:36:03","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T15:36:03","slug":"replacing-the-laser-tube_edge-pro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/support.epiloglaser.com\/staging\/laser-machine\/fusion-edge\/laser-source\/replacing-the-laser-tube_edge-pro\/","title":{"rendered":"Replacing the Laser Tube"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\"Remove Panels\">Remove Panels<\/h2>\n<p>Shut off the laser and remove the power cord from the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For this procedure you will need access to the back of the machine.<\/p>\n<p>Disconnect all exhaust system hoses from the rear of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_02.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using a 5\/32\u201d hex key, remove the screws that secure the rear panel of the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Fusion Edge and Fusion Pro have 9 Screws on the rear panel of the machine<\/p>\n<p>Then remove the screws from the optics housing cover to the right of the rear panel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both the Fusion Edge &amp; The Fusion Pro have 4 screws<\/p>\n<p>When both panels are removed, locate the laser tube assembly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_05.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Remove-Laser-Tube\">Remove Old Laser Tube<\/h2>\n<p>Now disconnect the power and data connections on the left-hand side of the laser assembly. The data cable is a small grey cable that resembles an ethernet cable. Depress the small tab at the bottom and the cable can be removed from the laser assembly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_06.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Locate the red and black wires coming from the laser. Part way down the wires, there is a large white connector. One side of the connector has a lock on it. Depress the lock and pull the two sides of the connector apart.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_07.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_08.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Move to the right-hand side of the laser assembly and locate the red dot pointer power wires. Follow the wires back to the black connector. These wires are routed behind the laser assembly. This connector also has a lock on it, depress the lock and gently pull apart the two halves of the connector.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_09.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_10.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using the #1 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the 3 Green captured screws that secure the laser to the machine\u2019s chassis. Two are located at the front of the laser tube, and one is located at the rear.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_11.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_13.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once the captive screws are loose, the laser needs to be moved to the left so the socket head screw, set into the machine\u2019s chassis, can clear the opening in the laser mount. There is a socket head screw at each end of the laser. The one in the front is hidden by the lasers heat sinks. The heat sinks are the fins at the top of the laser.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_14.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once the laser is moved to the left, lift it a little to clear the screwhead, and pull the laser toward you to remove the laser from the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_15.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With the old laser tube removed, now we\u2019re ready to install the new laser tube into the machine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/fusion-edge-pro_replacing-the-laser-tube_16.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Install-Laser-Tube\">Install New Laser Tube<\/h2>\n<p>Place the laser into the machines chassis so that its positioned over the Cap screws in the chassis.
