These safety features include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"uk-list uk-list-square uk-list-divider\">\n<li>A safety enclosure (cabinet), which fully encloses the engraving laser and its beam path in Class 2 mode.<\/li>\n<li>Dual redundant interlock systems that turn off the engraving laser when any access door (front, back or top) is opened. <\/li>\n<li>A visible emission indication when the Laser Diode Pointer (Red Dot Pointer) is operating. There is an LED indicator on the machine\u2019s top touch screen panel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>21 CFR 1040 and EN 60825-1 require that certification, identification, and warning labels be placed on laser products. Reproductions of labels on the Epilog Model 19000 Laser System follow, with their locations specified:<\/p>\n<p>The Model 19000 incorporates two safety functions designed in accordance with EN IEC 62061: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"uk-list uk-list-square uk-list-divider\">\n<li>Door interlock (SF-01): a dual-channel interlock that removes laser emission when an access door is opened. Designed to Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL 2).<\/li>\n<li>Emergency stop (SF-02): a Stop Category 0 emergency stop. Designed to Safety Integrity Level 1 (SIL 1).\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>When the door interlock is triggered, the safe state is the laser source de-energised. When the emergency stop is operated, the safe state is power removed from the machine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The safety functions are validated for use within the machine&#8217;s rated environmental conditions (see Section 7) and in an industrial electromagnetic environment.
