The flying optic beam delivery system moves the laser beam across the work surface and fires the laser when instructed to do so, vaporizing the material being processed. The Ascent emulates a paper printer in that it receives data from a graphics software program, interprets that data, and then instructs the machine where to move the flying optics and where to fire the laser.<\/p>\n<h2>Intended Use<\/h2>\n<p>The Epilog Ascent laser system, Model 19000 is intended for use to engrave, cut and mark a wide variety of materials including, but not limited to, wood, plastic, acrylic, glass, leather, rubber, coated metals, anodized aluminum, textiles, paper, etc.<\/p>\n<h2>Possible Misuse<\/h2>\n<p>The Epilog Ascent laser system is <strong>not<\/strong> designed to process PVC or other materials that produce noxious byproducts when engraved, cut, or marked.
