Connecting Electrical Power

Introduction

Epilog supplies the appropriate power cord for your system in the accessory package. The cord plugs into the power receptacle located on the right side of the machine in the rear corner. A dedicated circuit is recommended.

All machines, regardless of model, are rated 100–240 V AC, single phase, 47–63 Hz. The machine may be supplied either line-to-neutral (for example, 230 V in the EU) or as US split-phase line-to-line (240 V). In the split-phase configuration there are two live conductors plus protective earth and no neutral; both conductors are live, and each is independently protected within the machine.

Fusion Ascent electrical connection

The installer is responsible for verifying that the supply meets the following conditions:

  • The machine must be connected to a supply circuit protected by a branch-circuit protective device rated at 15 A or greater. This device is provided by the installer and is required for short-circuit current coordination.
  • The prospective short-circuit current (PSCC) at the point of connection must not exceed 1 kA (1000 A prospective, r.m.s. symmetrical). Where the site PSCC may exceed this value, upstream protection must be provided to limit it.

For more information, see “Electrical Safety”.
