Cooling Requirements and Operating Temperatures

All Epilog Laser systems use air-cooled laser tubes. Laser technology is such that the laser tubes generate a lot of excess heat and the tubes must be cooled for proper operation. There are cooling fans located on both sides of the laser. The fans and vents should always be clear of restrictions and should never be covered.

Avertissement :

The cooling fans and vents are located on both sides of the Fusion Ascent and should never be covered or blocked in any way. Lasers that overheat will not operate properly and may begin to produce erratic laser output or possibly complete failure.

Allow at least 12 in (305 mm) of clearance on each side of the machine, and at least 20 in (510 mm) above it so that the lid can open fully. This clearance is required for removal and servicing of the electrical equipment. Do not obstruct the ventilation inlets or outlets.

Temperature Requirements

Operating temperature: 41–104 °F (+5 to +40 °C) ambient air.

Avertissement :

Operating in ambient air above 90 °F (32 °C) voids the Epilog warranty.

Transport and storage temperature: −13 to +131 °F (−25 to +55 °C), with short periods up to 24 hours at +158 °F (+70 °C).
