17000 - Fusion Maker, Edge, Pro 24 & 36 - Autofocus Switch Replacement
How do I replace the autofocus switch in the Fusion Maker, Edge, and Pro 24 and 36?
Identifing X-Axis Rail Version
Before beginning, identify which version of the X-Axis rail is in your machine. If your lens carriage has the covers highlighted below, follow the Rev 2 procedure. If not, follow the Rev 1 procedure Rev 1 procedure.
Required Tools
- Autofocus Switch
- 3/32" Hex Wrench
- T 10 Torx Wrench
- Phillips Screwdriver
Rev 1 Procedure

Power OFF the machine.

Manually move the X-Axis rail and carriage to the center of the machine

Remove air assist tube.

Remove Phillips screw.
-
Disconnect autofocus switch.
-
Remove two (2) Phillips screws.
-
Move carriage to the left.
-
Remove 3/32” Hex screw.
-
Install adapter plate between replacement autofocus switch and carriage assembly.
-
Install 3/32” Hex screw.
-
Route autofocus cable through channel.
-
Install two (2) Phillips screws.
-
Connect autofocus switch.
-
Install Phillips screw to secure harnessing.

Attach air assist tube.
Rev 2 Procedure
-
Power OFF the machine.
-
Manually move the X-Axis rail and carriage to the center of the machine

Remove air assist tube.
-
Remove two (2) Phillips screw.
-
Remove two (2) 3/32” Hex screws.
-
Disconnect autofocus switch.
-
Remove two (2) T 10 Torx screws.
-
Remove 3/32” Hex screw.
-
Install adapter plate between replacement autofocus switch and carriage assembly.

Install 3/32” Hex screw.
-
Route autofocus cable through channel.

Install two (2) T 10 Torx screws.
-
Connect autofocus switch.

Install two (2) Phillips screws.
-
Install two (2) 3/32” Hex screws.

Attach air assist tube.
