Control Board Replacement – Legend 36 EXT

This document explains how to replace the main control board in the legend 36 EXT machine.

Introduction

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for replacing the controller board in the Legend EXT laser engraver. Before beginning the procedure, ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged from its power source to avoid electrical hazards.

Important: Use the included Anti-Static Strap as directed. Always wear the strap when handling the controller board, as static electricity can cause serious damage to sensitive electronic components.

If your machine is still operational and able to boot, it’s highly recommended to follow the data collection steps in Step 4 before removing the controller board. Doing so will help preserve your current configuration and reduce setup time after the new board is installed.

If the machine will not boot, skip directly to Step 5. The replacement controller board provided has been pre-configured with your machine’s original settings.

Note: Always wear the Anti-Static strap when handling the control board. Static electricity can damage it.

Note: It is recommended that safety glasses are worn during this procedure to prevent possible eye injury.

Note: If the machine will still boot, complete steps 1-4 before removing the board to save setup time. If not, skip to step 5; the new board is pre-programmed.
